First real workout since last sumer went beutifully. I'm not sure exactly what made it go so well. It could have possibly been just a bit of luck or a change in mindset. I did notice I made sure to always focus on going faster rather than focusing on not giivng up ground. I figure dwelling on the second primes you to slow down by even thinking about the possibility, whereas the first way of thinking primes you to consider maintaining what you're already doing or consider speeding up.
2x2 mile & 1x1 mile: Each with a half mile of regular running between reps.
First 2 mile: 6:04, 5:45
Second 2 mile: 6:00, 5:55
5th Mile: 5:30
Did this one around Liberty, felt like I didn't even blink and the reps were already over. First one a little harder than the second, felt my face going numb after first rep, everything afterwards went more than smoothly. Felt good to run with others again, makes workouts more than manageable.
