Great, Great day for the Utah Open:
22:15 Time & 5:59 average split...
Awesome start to racing, especially with only a month of training.
I'd say the best part of this race was that I was always on the attack and never just settling. I was always wittling down the lead other runners had on me. Also, my downhill pickups we're great!
The worst part of this race, or something to improve on: I need to develop a kick, cause mine was just nearly non existant there at the end and it cost me to fall back one position in this race.
This race was tons of fun. It was great to have the Pedersens and Kaylee cheering me and Ethan on. It helped me keep my head up. It was also fantastic having Holt there. Turning the corner on that first lap and unsuspectingly seeing Holt was a big boost for my mental game. It's wierd the difference between having a coach cheering you on verses your friends cheering you on. I think it reminded me to do all the little things we used to work on during workouts such as my spm and where I was looking wall running as well as keeping up the length of my strides. I was talking to Ethan about this after the race and he agreed with me. It also reminded me of how grateful I was to have ever ran with PV. They're one heck of a crew and they always will be thanks to the people involved. I'm very very grateful for my home, the communitty that's fostered there, and the diretion that those things set me towards.
